Welcome to Maori Language Week. This week we are learning the stick dance song. On Friday 25th July we will be celebrating the Maori Language Week at our school by doing songs, art work, games and greetings.

Welcome back to Term 3. This term we will be working in these areas:
Writing: Our focus for this term will be on
Personal Recount and Poetry writing.
Mathematics: We will be working
on Addition & Subtraction and in Statistics will be learning about
probability
Topics: This Term our topics will be based on our Intensive Oral Language
topics for every fortnight.
Weeks 1 & 2: Poi making (Maori
Language week), Weeks 3 & 4: Tivaevae (Cook Is Language week),
Weeks 5 & 6: Winter, Weeks 7 & 8: making lu (Tongan
language week), Weeks 9 & 10:
Gingerbread
Man.
Physical Education & Health:
Learning the skills for “Gymnastics”.
Te Reo Maori: We will be learning about
Matariki and some simple Maori commands, Wiaita, greetings
Visual Arts: We will learn about Fabric & Fibre.
Last but not the least - Homework
Your child will
bring his/her book bag home every day from Monday to Thursday every week. Inside the book bag he/she will have one of
the followings to do:

book to read to/with you

A
spelling list to learn and write
Please make
time to listen to, talk with and praise your child for bringing his/her work
home. Before the book bag is returned to
school the next day please sign on the folder so I can change the book for the
next day.
Every Friday
the poetry book will come home. Your
child will be able to share with you the poems we have been working on at
school.

Welcome back to Term 1. In Room 10, we will be learning about these areas during the Term.
Writing: Our focus for this term will be on Personal Recount and Letter Writing.
Mathematics: We will be working on Addition & Subtraction as well as Measurement.
Topic Study: Weeks 1-11. Our focus will be on Sustainability: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
Physical Education & Health: Learning the skills for “Striking and Fielding Games”.
Te Reo Maori: We will be learning simple action commands such as “e noho (sit); e tuu (stand); pakipaki (clap); whakarongo mai (listen to me); haere mai (come here); haere atu (go)”.
Visual Arts: we will be focussing on drawing and painting.
Last but not the least - Homework
Your child will bring his/her book bag home every day from Monday to Thursday every week. Inside the book bag he/she will have one of the followings to do:
- A book to read to/with you

Breakfast Club
This week I was on breakfast duty. It was great to meet the children again. They came in little groups like brothers and sisters or classmates. One of the PTA came over to help me serve our children. Thank you Pare for helping us, I really appreciate your help.
Breakfast Club opens from 7.45 - 8.30 am.

Welcome back 2014
